THE ANGRY SAMOANS "LIVE" @ THE DISTILLERY in SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA
FEATURING: "METAL" MIKE SAUNDERS
REVIEW by BRADLEY MASON HAMLIN for MYSTERY ISLAND MUSIC
The Distillery, Sacramento California
Head pounding ancient monkey evil. Late show, didnít get home until 4 a.m., cuz Metal Mike wasnít allowed to take the stage for his Angry Samoans show until after midnight, maybe after 1 a.m., [I lost track of time and space] but it was actually worth the wait.
I thought after all these years Mike might get up there and start screwing around, but the tunes blasted lean and mean as the mosh pit threatened teeth and sanity.
I got a fat lip, but Iím pretty sure it was an act of love and respect.
Meanwhile, when not on stage you could find Metal Mike selling Wiggles T-shirts and other bitchiní thrifty goods.
Iím gong to give this show a solid ďA.Ē It would have been an ďA+,Ē but Mike stole his Samoans sweatshirt back from Lucy Hell and that made her sad.
Otherwise, it was a perfecto punk rock offering. Highly recommended.
